Summary
We are seeking a skilled manual lathe turner to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating Manual turning lathes to produce precision parts and components, ensuring high-quality standards are met throughout the machining process. This role requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to work efficiently in a team environment.
• Operate manual Centre lathes machines and other related equipment to manufacture parts according to specifications.
• Set up tooling and fixtures for production runs, and one offs ensuring all materials are handled safely and effectively.
• Conduct regular inspections of finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.
• Perform routine start up checks on machinery and report any issues to the supervisor.
• Assemble components as required, utilising hand tools and basic maths skills for accurate measurements.
• Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Skills
• Proficiency in operating turning lathes with a strong understanding of conventional machining procedures.
• Familiarity with tooling setups and the ability to manufacture parts from raw materials.
• Strong basic maths skills for precise measurements and calculations.
• Attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.
• Experience of conventional machining
