JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title Maintenance Assistant
Hours/Shift (40 hrs over 5 days on a rota).
Department Maintenance
To whom individual reports Maintenance Manager
Overall purpose of job To provide a professional service in maintaining and repairing of all aspects of buildings, plant, machinery and inventory owned or operated by Hapimag or Burnside Park Owners Club. In order that the operational services and facilities can be provided safely and efficiently so as to achieve customer satisfaction and exceed customer expectations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.
Maintenance Service
Responsible for the maintenance and repair of the fabric of all buildings, plant, machinery and inventory of the Lodge and all Timeshare units.
Responsible to Assist with arranging and overseeing for the Company’s interest, any work to be carried out by sub-contractors (Decorators, commercial cleaners, joiners, plumbers, electricians, etc) for the purpose of scheduled maintenance or for work required that is outside the scope of your expertise.
To attend Housekeeping when they carry out “High Level” procedures (i.e. Curtain removal/hanging, lamp replacement, etc)
To oversee for the periodic cleaning, servicing and maintenance of heating boilers, gas hot water generators, and other heavy plant and machinery requiring specialists attention.
Assist with gutter, drain and pipe cleaning.
To action the repair and replacement of items reported by guests or entered in the
maintenance book located in the Lodge reception.
Control of Resources / Reporting Responsibilities
Exchange all smaller “Expense” items (Lamps, batteries, small fittings etc) as required and record their use according to the appropriate procedure.
Report any requirements for larger or higher “Expense” items to the Resort Manager.
Report any required repair, maintenance or replacement that cannot be effected immediately that will affect the condition and usage of a Timeshare Unit, or the safety of any guest or member of staff to the Resort Manager or in her absence a senior member of staff present.
Ensure all repair and maintenance procedures and arrangements for such through sub-contractors, are carried out with full consideration to cost control and effected by the most economical, efficient and suitable means.
Safety procedures.
Responsible for the safety of self, guests, and others that come within your care by adhering to all requirements of Fire, Health and Safety and associated legislation.
To ensure the fabric of buildings and inventory on site is in a satisfactory, useable and safe condition, and report immediately to the Resort Manager or senior member of staff present any identified potential hazard to safety.
To ensure that all procedures for maintenance and repair are carried out in line with current applicable legislation (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health, Electricity at Work Act 1989, Gas Safety Regulations 1990).
Other
Responsible for training any Company employee or colleague assigned to you.
Responsible for any other duties reasonably requested to do from time to time.
Liaison with
Resort Manager, Reception and Housekeeper
Maintenance experience in a resort / hotel would be an advantage
.
