We are looking for a reliable, respectful, trustworthy carer with a good sense of humour, someone who likes a laugh, to provide support to a gentleman living with COPD. This respiratory illness is impacting on this man’s ability to manage his daily living tasks.
He independently uses an oxygen supply at times during the day and can manage his own medication, at the present time. A wheelchair is available for his use when required. Initially, the role will be a getting to know you one, whereby you will spend time with him to allow for his loving, supportive wife to have some respite.
His hobbies include F1, watching football on the tv and gardening, although this has become more difficult. Once you have fostered a good relationship with this gentleman you will be required to support him with his personal care, including showering.
In the initial period you will assist him with getting him up in the morning and to bed in the evening. The hours may be used flexibly but will inevitably include morning and evening calls.
