Bridge House School in Boston, Lincolnshire are recruiting for a cook in charge to join their catering team!
We are looking for passionate people, who can promote healthy eating and provide varied meals that meet the required healthy foods standards and contribute to the wellbeing of our Children and Young People.
In this role, you will be responsible for the creation and implementation of the school menu, ensuring it delivers healthy, varied, and nutritious meals for both students and staff. You will oversee all aspects of food preparation and cooking within the school, maintaining high standards of quality and nutrition. Additionally, you will have line management responsibility for kitchen staff, supporting their development and ensuring effective team performance. You will also be accountable for maintaining excellent hygiene standards across the kitchen and associated areas, including the proper storage of food and equipment.
The working hours for the role are 7:30am to 2:30pm, Monday to Friday

The successful candidate will have previous experience in managing a school kitchen, along with the following characteristics:
- Communication - Communicating with our young people is vital to understand their needs. Good teamwork and communication plays a key part in ensuring important information is relayed to other staff.
- Organisation -You will need to be confident and organised in updating menus, dietary requirements and reporting information that will be relevant to the care of our young people.
- Attentive - No young person is the same so being attentive to understand them and identify areas where we can support is important.
