We are recruiting for a Talking Therapies Team Manager to join us at Buckinghamshire Talking Therapies (BTT) Service to provide operational management for the Countywide locality team. This role is based at our central High Wycombe site. BTT also has a team base in Aylesbury and other satellites and clinic spaces around the county. The role requires travel around the county, so you'll need to have the ability to travel freely between sites.
Bucks Talking Therapies is a large, diverse and vibrant service comprising high and low intensity therapists (including trainees), operational & admin staff, employment advisers and peer support workers. We have an award winning and very active staff wellbeing team within the service. We run in-house forums for equality and diversity and to support and connect our line managers.
Main duties of the jobAs a member of our senior leadership team, you'll be instrumental in the operational delivery of our Talking Therapies service, helping to ensure we work to national guidelines and meet our key performance indicators. You'll have specific responsibility for the Countywide team, working alongside other team managers and operational colleagues to ensure our staff are well supported and that the service can run smoothly, safely and effectively.
A key attribute will be your ability to lead by example and flex around the often quickly changing priorities of this busy and vibrant service. We place great emphasis on staff wellbeing and there will be a strong focus on your support for other members of the operational team and in turn, the wider staffing groups within BTT. The role comprises many aspects of operational management including leadership, staff and asset management, project delivery, implementing new innovations and promoting our offer to service users.

- Develop and operationally manage the Buckinghamshire Talking Therapies (BTT) service. The post holder will ensure the central coordination centre which triage's clients, sets up clinical files and books assessments with Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners (PWPs) and High Intensity (HI)Therapists is operating to a high standard.
- Ensure the data collection arrangements meet local and national Talking Therapies and OHFT requirements, and that the service meets activity and outcome requirements and can produce written performance and outcome reports as specified by OHFT and commissioners
- Work with external partner organisation, including the WayThrough (employment service), to ensure all elements of the service work effectively together to provide appropriate care pathways and the best possible service to patients.
- Develop excellent working relationships with GPs and primary care teams, partner services, social care and employment services to ensure that services are developed and improved jointly responsible for and management of the Bucks Talking Therapies budget in excess of £1,000,000
- Work closely with partners in secondary care, and independent sector providers to ensure smooth pathways of care within the Buckinghamshire Talking Therapies stepped care model.
- Establish appropriate management systems and structures to ensure that all staff receive appropriate supervision, appraisal, training and induction, with a particular focus on the Countywide team.
- Monitor and manage, performance, sickness absence, capability and other staff issues within relevant policies and procedures and with the assistance of Human Resources and Occupational Health.
- Have high levels of user and carer satisfaction and to involve users and carers in the ongoing development and delivery of the services.
- Contribute to the business planning process and strategic planning for the Bucks Talking Therapies Service in conjunction with Talking Therapies clinical leads and senior managers.
- Develop and maintain operational policies and specifications for the service.
- Be visible and accessible to Bucks Talking Therapies staff and to frequently meet with, and openly communicate with them.
- Be responsible for managing the financial resources available to the Bucks Talking Therapies team within agreed budget tolerances.
- Educated to degree level or equivalent professional qualification
- Management training
- • Post graduate qualification or continued professional development
- Experience of managing at team level or higher
- Experience of working in or managing mental health services
- Experience of interagency working and liaison on a wide range of service user issues
- Experience of managing change
- • Thorough understanding of the Talking Therapies agenda
