Do you love the outdoors, working with people, and making a positive impact on your community?

We are looking for a passionate and motivated Park Ranger to join our Greenspace team and help us care for and enhance some of Nottingham’s most treasured public places.

This is your chance to play a hands-on role in managing beautiful parks, nature reserves and greenspaces across the city. You will lead community and volunteer events, promote biodiversity and wildlife protection, and support a wide range of public engagement activities. Every day in this role is different, meaningful, and focused on improving the environment for everyone as well as contributing to Nottingham’s nature recovery.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Coordinate and lead volunteer work parties as part of the Nottingham Green Guardians programme, working closely with local people and organisations
  • Plan and deliver a range of public engagement events, including guided walks, seasonal family activities, and conservation days for city residents and local businesses.
  • Support site improvement projects aligned with environmental goals, including biodiversity and habitat restoration
  • Carry out routine patrols and site inspections, ensuring safety standards are met and sites are well cared for
  • Promote parks and green spaces through community outreach, marketing materials and educational activities
  • Help maintain high standards in Nottingham’s parks, supporting Green Flag Awards and other city-wide quality benchmarks

Who We’re Looking For

  • A background in greenspace, conservation or park management
  • Practical experience of volunteer coordination and engaging the public in outdoor activities
  • Strong understanding of UK wildlife and habitats, biodiversity and environmental best practices
  • Confident communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with young people, businesses and residents
  • The ability to work independently and flexibly, including some evenings, weekends and public holidays on a rota basis.
  • A full UK driving licence is required
