The Tree & Woodland Operative is a member of a small specialist team responsible for carrying out a full range of tree and woodland duties resulting in a well maintained and managed tree and woodland stock for the council. The work is of a varied nature and includes climbing arboricultural work on specimen trees to work in productive forestry areas owned by the council.
A sound knowledge of current best practice in arboriculture, woodland / forestry management practices and the ability to maintain and service small plant such as chainsaws is essential.
Candidates must have the ability to drive, be personable with good oral communication skills and have a good level of fitness. This is a Fixed term position until the end of Dec 2027 with possible extension.
36hrs / week over a 2week rota:-
Wk1: Mon – Sat
Wk2: Mon - Thu
