Behaviour Mentor - Secondary School - Waltham Forest
We are working with a dynamic and inclusive secondary school in Waltham Forest to appoint a skilled and confident Behaviour Mentor for the start of the new academic year.
The school is well-regarded for its structured pastoral systems and offers a supportive environment with a strong behaviour team and intervention unit. Students benefit from clear routines and restorative practices, and the leadership team are committed to early intervention for those struggling with emotional regulation or disengagement from learning.
This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a difference and supporting young people through structured mentoring and consistent behaviour support.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide 1:1 and small group behaviour mentoring for students across KS3 and KS4
* Deliver structured behaviour interventions and support daily check-ins
* Assist with behaviour management strategies in and out of class
* Work with the inclusion team to reintegrate students following isolation or incidents
* Collaborate with teachers, pastoral leaders and families to create lasting impact
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* Experience supporting students with SEMH or challenging behaviour in a school or youth setting
* A calm, resilient, and confident presence
* Knowledge of trauma-informed behaviour practices and restorative approaches
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Background in mentoring, PRU, youth work or inclusion roles is highly desirable
Location and Transport - Waltham Forest, East London
* Accessible via Walthamstow Central, Blackhorse Road, and Leyton Midland stations
* Local bus routes include: 123, 69, W15, 158, 275
* On-site staff parking available
