Summary

Role: National Careers Service Advisor
Salary: £26-27k per annum, based on qualifications and experience
Contract type: Fixed term
Working hours: Full Time (37.5 hrs pw) – open to considering part-time applications
Location: Travel between Stockton/Ashton

Join us a National Careers Service Advisor to support and inspire individuals in making informed choices about their education, training, and career paths!
You’ll build strong relationships with customers, help them identify their skills and strengths, and guide them in setting realistic, achievable goals. A key part of the role is boosting self-confidence and self-awareness, empowering people to recognise their potential and take positive steps towards their future.

What you’ll do
• Provide participants with Information Advice and Guidance on progression routes relating to individual participant needs
• Ensure that participants are advised of appropriate progression opportunities within the local area
• Proactively work with participants to ensure positive outcomes and contractual targets are achieved and that the programme is a success
• Produce a detailed individualised SMART action plan for each participant on the programme, adhering to all contract quality and compliance guidelines whilst always maintaining 100% accuracy
• Ensure relevant and accurate signposting of services to overcome specific barriers faced by participants
• Assist participants to produce a realistic action plan leading back to work, including considering obstacles to the successful achievement of the plan and how to overcome them
• Improve life skills of participants by encouraging and valuing their contribution and establishing an atmosphere of trust and understanding.

What you’ll need
• Level 2 English and Maths as a minimum
• Minimum of Level 4 qualification in Careers, Information, Advice and Guidance
• Experience of successfully achieving deadlines and working without close supervision
• Experience delivering one-to-one careers advice including information advice and guidance
• Ability to achieve performance targets
• The ability to work autonomously and manage your own caseload
• Full UK driving license.

Overseas equivalent qualifications will be accepted.
