Summary
We are looking for an experienced and forward-thinking AHP Team Managerto join and lead ourYork AHP Neurology Service– a specialist team delivering high-quality care to patients with neurological conditions across York and the surrounding area.
This is a unique leadership role as the service has recently moved into theCancer, Specialist and Clinical Support Services (CSCS) Care Group.This creates a fantastic opportunity to play an integral part in shaping how AHPs are represented and involved in service development and decision-making across the care group.
The role combinesservice leadershipwithclinical practice (80:20 split), allowing you to remain hands-on with a neurological caseload while driving service improvement and development. You’ll lead a dedicated and experienced team of AHPs, working collaboratively with operational managers and clinical leads to ensure high standards of patient care, workforce development, and innovation in service delivery.
• Provide professional and operational leadership to the AHP Neurology team, including staff management, recruitment, induction, appraisal, locality training and service development
• Support the ongoing development of AHP services within the CSCS Care Group
• Hold a small specialist neurological caseload (approx. one day per week)
• Champion high standards of clinical care, service innovation, and staff development
• Contribute to strategic discussions and planning forums within the care group
• Support will be available from senior managers, as well as clinical advice from advanced clinical specialists in this area and professional leads.
• A relevant degree or equivalent with current HCPC registration is essential. The successful candidate will have a broad range of post graduate experience, preferably with a strong background in neurological rehabilitation and will have experience of leading teams or services.
• Ability to support others in skills development and complex discharge management is essential and understanding of complex care management within the NHS environment is also beneficial.
