This is a part-time, term-time post the salary will be pro-rata to the number of hours worked.

Work pattern - Monday and Tuesday 8.30am - 4.00pm with a 30 min unpaid break and Wednesday 8.30am - 12 noon with no break or as agreed with the Principal ELC Officer.

West Dunbartonshire Council is looking to recruit a Senior Practitioner for Bellsmyre Early Learning Childcare Centre to support the delivery of high quality early learning and childcare within West Dunbartonshire as we move towards expanded hours.

Our aim is to provide child centred nursery early learning and childcare which responds to individual needs of children. The ability to work in team situations is essential and a flexible approach to working with children is required.

You will have responsibility for leading and developing the Centre’s parental engagement initiatives and identifying creative ways to involve parents/carers in the life of the nursery and support them.

You will have some leadership responsibility in the providing high quality play experience within the nursery setting and ensuring that high standards of education are maintained following the curriculum, guidance documents and West Dunbartonshire Council Policies and Procedures.

Requirements

This post is considered a Regulated Role with Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2020 and as such membership with the PVG scheme is essential. Further details of this scheme can be found here.

Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the relevant PVG scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council.

Responsibilities

The employment for which you are applying is excepted from the provisions of section 4(2) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders (Exceptions) Order 1975.
