Location: Barry (covering Barry & Bridgend areas)

About the Role
We are launching a brand-new Commercial Department at Daniel Matthew Estate Agents and are looking for an experienced Commercial Agent to take the lead in setting up and growing this exciting new arm of our business.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven individual to make their mark, working with our Directors to shape the service offering, establish a client base, and develop the department into a key part of our agency.
The successful candidate will be based at our Barry branch but will cover both Barry and Bridgend areas.
Key Responsibilities
Establish and develop the company’s new Commercial Department.
Generate new business opportunities, securing instructions across offices, retail, industrial, and investment properties.
Conduct commercial valuations, prepare marketing strategies, and negotiate deals.
Provide expert advice to landlords, tenants, investors, and developers.
Build long-term relationships with clients and the local business community.
Create marketing materials, property particulars, and ensure listings are promoted effectively.
Manage transactions from instruction through to completion, ensuring compliance throughout.
Work alongside the Residential Directors to grow the overall profile of the company in the commercial sector.
Keep up to date with market trends, legislation, and competitor activity.
About You (Essential)
Proven commercial property experience in sales, lettings, and valuations – this is not a trainee role.
Strong track record of generating business and securing instructions.
Entrepreneurial mindset – confident in setting up a new department and building it from the ground up.
Excellent negotiation and business development skills.
Professional, motivated, and able to work independently while being part of a wider team.
Confident in producing accurate valuations, marketing materials, and presenting to clients.
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (business insurance required).
Desirable
RICS or equivalent professional qualifications.
Local market knowledge of South Wales commercial property.
Working Hours
Monday to Friday (standard office hours).
