Summary

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1.To support the HART Training & Development Manager (HTM) in the implementation of the HART-educational strategic plan 2.To support the HTM in preparing the annual budget for HART training, purchasing of consumables, initial and rolling procurement of training equipment, and the maintenance of this equipment. 3.To be responsible for the delivery of clinical and non-clinical education and training, in classroom settings and in the operational environment, in accordance with the HART policies and procedures; communicating education and training of a complex, sensitive nature, individually, or to groups, to best meet HART/RSOs needs. 4.To work within an allocated operational area of the Trust, liaising and supporting the HART Managers, Resilience and Specialist Operations Managers, HART Team Leaders and HART Team Educators in the delivery of education, training and exercises, as determined by the HTM. 5.To provide best practice advice in a HART setting, for mentors and staff in relation to clinical practice and governance. 6.To provide education and leadership, mentorship and training to HART, assessing the competence and fitness to practice with particular reference to the support of HART Team Educators in the development and enhancement of practice education. 7.To support the HTM in ensuring that senior managers are kept fully informed of all educational and development issues, assuming central portfolio responsibility for an allocated area of education, as directed by the HTM. 8.To plan and manage your individual workload, in conjunction with the HTM and in accordance with the Training/Education delivery needs, seeking guidance from peers and external references as appropriate. 9.To facilitate the delivery of clinical and non-clinical education and training, liaising closely with the subject matter experts, ensuring compliance with departmental requirements and dealing fairly and rigorously with underperformance. 10.To ensure that recertification and frequency targets are planned for and meet the required resources in line with trust policy regarding notice to staff members,with reference to national HART competencies as set by NHS ECU. 11.To ensure return to work, training needs analysis, and performance improvement plans, are documented and completed in support of staff members returning to work or where a training need is identified. 12.To ensure that all current Trust policies and procedures are implemented and remain in compliance, and to propose policy change, which may impact across all areas of the Trust 13.To work with the HTM in the fostering of a working and learning environment which is conducive to learning and development, ensuring consistent delivery and content compliance of education across the Trust. 14.To work closely with NHS ECU and other HART Units, supporting them as required and deemed appropriate by the HTM. 15.To work with the HTM to ensure, maintain and assure systems of work which comply with clinical regulatory bodies and other educational requirements, providing staff with the relevant opportunities to maintain their own individual registration 16.To ensure the accuracy, validity and security of all staff records, and to ensure that information generated meets and maintains all necessary professional accreditation standards 17.To maintain strong working relationships with all directorates of the Trust. 18.To liaise and support all aspects of education within HART. 19.To use all appropriate methods to disseminate educational information to all HART staff. 20.To take part in the review process of education across all areas of HART. 21.To provide advice and guidance, where necessary, on processes to members of staff with regards to national training systems, local records, planners and SOPs. 22.To attend national and local meetings, as required and relevant to your portfolio and SME. 23.To participate in the HART Team Educator recruitment process. 24.To promote the effective use of evidence-based practice, and a commitment to and participation in research and audit. 25.To participate in the development of the clinical and non-clinical training programmes. 26.To take part in the delivery of national and local competency-based training. 27.To liaise closely with the HART Team Educators and instructing staff to ensure accurate record keeping of staff training. 28.To liaise closely with External partners, HART Rostering and the HART Administrator in the booking and planning to use internal and external venues. 29.To support, promote and participate in research projects as directed by the HTM. 30.To undertake HART operational shifts and clinical training, in order to maintain a professional development portfolio of CPD, as directed by the HTM. 31.To undertake working hours as required in support of all aspects of training delivery and to release HART instructing staff, as directed by the HTM. 32.To deputise for the HTM as and when required. 33.To assist, in the absence of a Team Leader, with Timesheet & Expenses approval and welfare checks on staff.
