Paediatric Clinical Scientist / Advanced Audiologist -Band 7

As part of our expansion, we are looking for an enthusiastic and well-motivated Paediatric Audiologist to join our friendly audiology team.

This mainly clinical role will keep you busy with a range of duties and responsibilities, as well as the opportunity to work with professionals from a range of disciplines. The role is paediatric focused within a service that offers adult and paediatric audiology care.

Successful applicants will be required to provide an immunisation and vaccination report, from either their current UK occupational health provider or their UK GP.

As Paediatric Audiologist you will be responsible for neonate and paediatric hearing assessment and rehabilitation for both routine and complex caseloads This role offers multidisciplinary working with a range of seasoned professionals including Education teams, Speech and Language therapists and medical consultants.

The role may include line management responsibilities and there may be opportunities to develop and lead research and innovative projects within the team. The role will also offer the opportunity to become part of a team that strives to continually improve.

The post-holder will have specialist knowledge of a wide range of procedures and practices, underpinned by practical experience and knowledge maintained through professional registration and CPD activity. Youmusthave NHS experience and HCPCorRCCP registration to apply for this role. For this band 7 role youmusthave a Masters level qualification (or equivalent) in Audiology.

Individual Management Plan (IMP) Development
• The development of the IMP should include a range of investigations, procedures or processes in
• consultation with families and relevant others, based on the individual child's needs and wishes and accepted good practice.
• The IMP should be monitored and progress reported, reviewing the need for further intervention as appropriate.
• Develops and delivers IMP’s for families within specialist Audiology services e.g. paediatrics

Diagnostic Assessments
• The Advanced Healthcare Scientist in Audiology undertakes the full range of available Audiological tests unsupervised, including advanced diagnostic testing, in particular, frequency specific objective testing to determine thresholds in young babies.

Communication
• Highly developed specialist advice, which may be complex, sensitive and delivered within an emotive atmosphere, must be given to patients regarding their auditory or vestibular status and its management.

Multi-Agency Working without supervision or restriction
• The need for liaison with to other agencies or specialists must be recognised and referral, as appropriate, made. Involvement in multi-disciplinary meetings, where required, should occur. Supporting joint appointments for specialist services is required e.g. with ENT

Clinic Administration
• Clinical reports/letters to referrers, other agencies or professionals
• Arranging joint appointments with other agencies/professionals as required
