Project Manager (x2)

Location – Peterborough, with the option for a blended working approach, agreed with your Line Manager

Working Hours – 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Salary Target - £53,303pa from the 1st September 2025

We are seeking experienced and dynamic PM Managers to join our recently established Central Portfolio Office (CPO) to lead the successful delivery of projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope and budget, and aligned to organisational priorities.

CITB operates a hybrid working from home and head office in Peterborough policy, with approx. one day in the office per fortnight with additional travel to external sites and parties as required.



About the role:

You will be working directly on a high-profile transformation programme that spans multiple areas of the business. You will work closely with the Programme Manager and Senior Responsible Owner (SRO) to ensure the successful planning, execution, monitoring, control, and closure of projects within scope, time, and budget. The role ensures project deliverables align with organisational objectives and stakeholder expectations while adhering to governance standards.



This is a key role in supporting the successful delivery of change at CITB by ensuring projects comply with the CITB Project Design and Delivery Framework.

Essential:

Proven ability to lead end-to-end delivery of projects, translating strategic objectives into delivery plans, managing multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring delivery within agreed time, cost, and quality constraints.
Experienced in developing detailed project plans and applying appropriate project controls aligned to recognised methodologies including milestone tracking and reporting.
Demonstrated experience in coordinating the development of robust business cases and managing project budgets, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and tracking spend against plan.
Skilled in benefits management: identifying, tracking, and reporting on benefits realisation, including development and application of benefits realisation strategies throughout and beyond the project lifecycle.
Strong background in resource planning and allocation, including managing internal and external teams or working independently to deliver project outcomes.
Demonstrated success in stakeholder identification and engagement, developing and maintaining effective relationships across all levels of the organisation to ensure successful project outcomes.
Experienced in proactively identifying, assessing, and managing project risks and issues, developing mitigation plans and escalating appropriately to maintain project momentum.
Knowledge of governance and assurance processes, with the ability to prepare and present key reports to governance boards and ensure project compliance with internal and external requirements.
Applied experience in change control and management, ensuring agreed deliverables are maintained through structured processes with appropriate stakeholder input and approval.
Committed to personal development and continuous improvement, with experience in seeking guidance and coaching, promoting team learning, and fostering a high-performance culture.
Relevant professional qualification, such as PRINCE2 Practitioner, Agile Project Management Practitioner, APM Project Management Qualification, PMI Project Management Professional, Leading and Managing Project Workstreams




Desirable:

Working towards relevant professional qualification, such as PRINCE2 Practitioner, Agile Project Management Practitioner, APM Project Management Qualification, PMI Project Management Professional, Leading and Managing Project Workstreams
Level 5 coaching & mentoring.
Experience in contributing towards programme planning and budgeting.
Experience working with or in public sector / UK Government delivery environment
