Summary
We are looking for a homestyle cook to join our team from September 2025
Using your cooking skills & experience, you will plan, source & cook healthy & varied lunch time meals for our pre-schoolers (ages vary between 6months and 5 years) and tea time treats for our After school Cabin Club Kids.
We are passionate about providing both meat & vegetarian options for each food service, incorporating interesting textures, tastes and lots of variety throughout the week.
Cooking from scratch, using as many locally sourced products as you can, you will be pivotal in providing healthy and well balanced meals, encouraging our children to try new foods, while ensuring there is always something they are used to eating available.
You will be required to work Monday - Friday 10am - 5pm term time only. Providing hot meals and both lunch and tea time, complete any deep cleaning, paperwork, stock taking, ordering, shopping & menu planning. The kitchen will need to be fully cleaned at the end of each day. You will also need to be available for 1 full day in both the Summer & Christmas Holidays for a deep clean of the kitchen.
This role might suit a mum / dad returner, a retired person or someone just happy to work part time. Ideally you will have a full driving licence & access to a car, but this is not a game changer as shopping can be delivered, however you will need to be on hand to receive & sort deliveries)
More importantly, you will enjoy cooking, be passionate about providing good healthy food & have an interest in developing a child's palette whilst understanding dietary requirements.
Rate of pay £12.21 per hour
You will be required to achieve Level 3 Food Safety & Hygiene, prior to starting in the role to cement your understanding of Allergens, and Food standards. The certificate will give you the confidence to work in our kitchen & cook a variety of food options to feed our lovely children.
You will also be required to undertake a full DBS before taking up the role.
