Summary

THE ROLE
• Installation of network infrastructure, including external underground/overhead cabling, internal cable installation, and supporting infrastructure (e.g. splices, fibre terminals, patch panels, cabinets).
• Assist with underground duct surveys and route proving based on existing duct network plans, rode & roping activities, and network planning.
• Report progress, defects, and duct blockages to the operations team.
• Installation of high-capacity radio links, working from a MEWP (Cherry-picker) or on roof-tops.
• Assist with installation/maintenance projects and general housekeeping within our datacentre/network facilities.
• The role will involve some out of normal hours working.

TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS PROVIDED
Training and Qualifications will depend upon the individual, based upon their progression within the role and any existing qualifications, which will include as a minimum:
• Openreach accredited training (PIA)
• NRSWA (To work in the public highway)
• Splicing and Jointing training
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Must have GCSEs grades A-C (4+) in English and Maths. You must be aged 21+, and a full clean driving licence is required due to the field nature of the work. Applicants must be willing to work outdoors and at height.

SALARY AND WORKING HOURS
£24,500 to £29,000 per annum depending on prior experience. Reviewed 6-monthly based on progression and job responsibilities.
HOURS OF WORK
Typically, 37.5 hours/week Mon-Fri rostered during core hours of 9am-5pm. Some out of hours (evenings and weekends) working will be required due to the nature of the work (scheduled by rota in advance by at least 4 weeks).
DURATION
Permanent contract. Subject to 3-month probationary period.
