Crynodeb

The DI Russia and Eurasia Centre (DI REC) is the focal point within DI for analysis of Russia and the former Soviet Union states. Crucial to that analysis is engagement and sharing of information with allies and partners with similar interests in the region.

DI REC’s International Engagement team consists of three members whose collective responsibility is the management of DI’s relationships with the European nations. The DI REC International Engagement team works with the whole of DI to track analytical output and set objectives for partner engagement.

Reporting to DI REC’s International Engagement Desk Officer, the International Engagement Coordination Officer will be responsible for supporting the handling of DI’s day-to-day bilateral relationships with a select number of nations. This involves liaising with domestic and international partners, implementing DI’s international activity with these partners by arranging inbound and outbound visits, and ensuring effective records of this activity are maintained.

The successful candidate will need to have strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships within DI, across policy and analytical bodies, and with international allies. International Engagement in DI REC can be fast-paced and require flexibility and adaptability: there is often high demand on the centre from international partners. The successful candidate will be proactive and organised, and able to prioritise and plan their own work effectively. The International Engagement Coordination Officer would benefit from an interest in, or knowledge of, Defence and Defence Intelligence. The role will offer opportunities to work with other government departments, as well as to deputise for members of the wider International Engagement team on occasion.

From a line management perspective, the role will report directly to the DI REC International Engagement Desk Officer.

Remote working within this role is something that can be discussed at interview stages or with your future line manager if you are found successful.

Please note, candidates will be redirected to the Civil Service Jobs website where you will need to submit your application form. Please note the closing date above is incorrect and cannot be amended so please check the closing date on Civil Service Jobs and allow enough time to submit your application form.
