Summary

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Underwriter looking to step into a more senior, technical role within a specialist sector. You will be overseeing a profitable and growing portfolio, working on both open market and coverholder business across Liability and Property lines.

As a Technical Underwriter, you’ll work closely with the Head of Underwriting as well as collaborating with sales, actuarial, and claims teams. The role offers real variety with around 40% analytical work and 60% underwriting, covering complex and higher-value risks with premiums typically ranging from £50k, with scope to handle larger cases. You will also have the opportunity to visit coverholders and brokers, building relationships and identifying new opportunities.

This is a senior-level position compared to standard underwriting roles, giving you greater responsibility for portfolio performance, governance, and rate improvement. The Care sector is one of the largest areas of growth for the business, so you’ll be joining at an exciting time with plenty of opportunity to make an impact.

In return, you’ll receive a competitive salary plus a 20% bonus, alongside hybrid working with 3 days in the office. The position can be based at either their Birmingham, Leeds or Manchester office which will offer hybrid working with 2 days from home.
