Role length: Anticipated 4 months
Working Arrangement: Office attendance 2 days per week for the first two months
Additional requirements: Ability to be able to travel to attend client offices or courts
The role:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Property Lawyer to join the team.
You will have external lawyers’ management skills, education and academy experience for land dealings including foundations schools including development experience for the same.
You will have large scale housing stock transfer experience and estate ballot experience, and you will be able to deal with lease and licence work across the 5 borough shared services with the exception of routine residential matters.
What the client is looking for:
Qualified solicitor or barrister or chartered legal executive or equivalent legal experience with a background in local government
External lawyers’ management skills
Education and academy experience for land dealings including foundations schools
Large scale housing stock transfer experience
Estate ballot experience
Lease and licence work experience
Good knowledge of relevant legislation to the service area and the decision-making processes and procedures
Good understanding of current issues and best practice on service delivery relevant to the service areas
Good and demonstrable analytical legal skills
Experience of staff management and ability to manage, inspire and motivate staff
Commitment to the principles of and development of the Shared Legal Service
Ability to contribute to the ongoing development of the Shared Legal Service
Good communication skills, both orally and in writing and good numeracy and analytical skills
Demonstrable experience of working on a continuous basis with a single local authority for a minimum of 18 months
