Our client

Our client, a leading housing association, offers a dedicated domestic abuse partnership across Greater Manchester. We are currently seeking an experienced IDVA to work on a temporary basis for an initial period of 8 weeks with the potential for extension. The role is 35 hours per week and includes a mix of home and office working and a blended approach to support through both face to face and telephone support.

The role

As an IDVA you will.

  • Manage a caseload of high-risk cases across the area.
  • Represent the organisation at MARAC meetings and case review meetings.
  • Undertake safety planning and risk assessments (DASH) with survivors.
  • Focus on the most urgent cases first, stepping in quickly with short- to medium-term crisis support, safety plans, and one-on-one help.
  • Work directly with survivors to connect them (and their children) to services that will keep them safe.
  • Speak up for survivors and make sure agencies take action to address the abuse.
  • Offer both practical help and emotional support.
  • Keep accurate notes on the system about your cases.
  • Share important information with internal teams and partner agencies.
  • Work with other agencies, helping build a strong, joined-up response to domestic abuse.

The candidate

  • A recognised relevant qualification or significant experience of managing high risk cases.
  • Experience of attending MARAC and case review meetings.
  • Significant experience working with families and children in crisis.
  • Strong knowledge of domestic abuse dynamics and safeguarding frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and partnership working skills.
  • An Enhanced DBS is required for this role.
