The Assurance and Compliance Manager will play a pivotal role in helping ISS become the world’s greatest service organisation. By providing robust oversight of Hard FM service delivery, this role ensures that our customers’ objectives are met through empowered, high-performing teams.
You will provide the Senior Leadership Team with confidence that maintenance and FM activities are delivered to the highest standards, in full compliance with contractual, legal, and statutory requirements.
Job Description
This role is central to maintaining a culture of continuous improvement and driving operational excellence across a large estate. It ensures that all compliance and assurance processes are robust, auditable, and fully aligned with ISS’s commitment to delivering world-class service.
The position also carries supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organisational policies and applicable laws, including hiring, training, directing, and appraising team members, as well as managing complaints and resolving operational issues. The primary focus is on providing a compliant, high-quality FM service that consistently meets business-defined requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the Compliance Administration function, ensuring effective supervision, development, and training of the team.
Consolidate and maintain all compliance documentation across over 150 buildings.
Conduct Hard FM assurance activities, inspections, and reporting to ensure statutory and contractual compliance.
Investigate trends and produce evidence-based reports to highlight compliance risks and opportunities.
Support Site Leadership in managing non-conformances, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Collaborate with Technical FMs, SMEs, and subcontractors to drive process improvement and service excellence.
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
Significant experience delivering assurance and compliance activities across large Hard Services FM portfolios.
Vocational education in engineering, HSEQ, or equivalent.
Proven experience developing Hard FM processes and procedures within an integrated management system compliant with ISO9001.
Strong knowledge of Work Order Control procedures, CMMS, and CAFM systems.
Minimum IOSH Managing Safety or NEBOSH qualification.
Practical experience in Hard Services contract delivery and NEC 4 Contracts.
