Summary
1 1.The purpose of the Medicines Management Administrator is to ensure that prescription requests are managed in an efficient and accurate manner and patients have a point of contact for medication related queries. 2. The Medicines Management Administrator will adhere at all times to the practices agreed protocols and procedures. 3. Provide an effective service as part of the Medicines Management Team to ensure prescription requests are actioned within the necessary timeframe. 4. Co ordinating and preparing repeat prescriptions for our patients in response to written requests, emailed requests or online requests. 5. Liaising with patients, care homes and pharmacies about medication related queries. 6. Liaise with community pharmacy teams about supply disruptions and alert clinicians of any issues and suitable alternatives as advised by the community pharmacy. 7. Make accurate records in a patients notes of any communication. Contribute to audits. Improve the quality and safety of prescribing. Assist in delivery of incentives to protect and save NHS resources. Closely monitor patients who are on high risk drugs to ensure the necessary monitoring takes place in a timely fashion. Assist in the training of other members of the team, as necessary. Report on near misses and significant events. Attend monthly Medicines Management Team meetings. The Team: Comprises of Clinical Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, Medicines Management Manager, Medicines Management Administrators.
