Summary

Limelight Signs Ltd in Bacup are recruiting for an Apprentice Sign maker. The successful candidate will work towards completing a Level 2 Lean Manufacturing Operative apprenticeship over the duration of 15 months.

Limelight Signs are a leading UK Road Traffic Sign manufacturer dealing with the design and manufacture of permanent and temporary road signage. You will also make site safety signs, street name signs and shop fascias amongst other things!

As an Apprentice, you will receive excellent training in how to
• Understanding and following instructions on works orders
• Logging batch number and information on works orders
• Using appropriate PPE when preforming certain tasks.
• Working with various materials aluminium/ Steel/ Composite
• Competent using various hand tools Drills /Jigsaw /Grinders /Sanders /Multitool /Scalpel Knife /Tape measure.
• Working alone or as part of a team.
• Measuring and cutting sign rail /channel using Cross cut saw
• Measuring and cutting sheet material on Guillotine
• Applying sign rail /Channel to sign profile using Riveting machine
• Preparing sign face for vinyl print application
• Applying sign face print /vinyl using power/ Flatbed rollers
• Trimming excess vinyl using Scalpel knife
• Quality checking of finished sign
• Apply UK CA labels
• Gathering correct sign furniture /fixings
• Wrapping and packaging signs for own delivery or courier
• Loading vehicles
• Taking deliveries
• Keeping workshop and own working area clean and tidy

• A driving license is preferred, but not essential, as you may be required to carry out deliveries of our manufactured signs nation-wide.

• Genuine interest in the manufacturing industry
• Committed to further education and completion of qualification
• Physically fit, with the ability to lift and carry items and happy to be on their feet

• Working under pressure, to tight deadlines and adaptable to challenges on a daily basis.

Monday - Thursday 8am - 4:30pm / Friday 8am - 3:45pm / 45 minutes unpaid lunch / 15 minute unpaid break each morning / 36.75 hours per week
