Medical Advisor (On Call) – Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust

Are you an experienced pre-hospital, blue-light trained doctor with a passion for pre-hospital care and trauma response? Do you thrive in high-pressure environments and want to make a real difference in critical situations?

Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust is seeking aMedical Advisor (On Call)to join our team providing overnight clinical leadership and emergency support across Yorkshire. The role is a temporary position based on an honorary contract until the end of March 2026.

What You’ll Do:
• Be part of a1-in-6 on-call rota, covering 20:00–08:00, 7 days a week.
• Provideexpert clinical advice to specialist ambulance clinicians, especially in trauma and critical care cases.
• Respond tomajor incidents, supporting Tactical Commanders with strategic medical input and overseeing clinical interventions at the scene.
• Ensure rapid patient flow from incident sites to hospitals.
• Participate intraining and exercises to maintain operational excellence.

What We’re Looking For:
• Registered Consultant or equivalent with a current license to practice.
• Diploma in Immediate Care (Royal College of Surgeons) – Fellowship desirable.
• Minimum 5 years’ experiencein immediate care and pre-hospital environments (e.g., Air Ambulance, BASICS).
• Blue light driving qualification and readiness to respond within 30 minutes of the Yorkshire border.
• Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills under pressure.
