THE CONTRACT-Part of pladis UK, McVities South Wigston bakes & packages a range of brand name biscuit products to supermarket facilities across the UK.We are responsible for environmental cleaning of the entire Factory including plant cleaning, offices and facilities. In order to service the contract, we have a team of 42 staff working across a variety of shifts.This contract will be 36 hours per week, Friday, Saturday & Sunday and the shift is 6am to 6pm.
THE PERSON-We are looking for a strong, professional individual with the determination and flexibility to achieve excellence for our clients while motivating and supporting team members. The ideal candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively with both Mitie and clients, demonstrating enthusiasm for a challenging and varied working environment. A commitment to the success of the contract and the achievement of site objectives is essential. The candidate must also be a team player, capable of learning, motivating others, and working collaboratively. Fluency in English (100%) is required, and the role also demands the ability to work at height.
THE JOB-The role reports directly to the Weekend Supervisor, Sami Mami, and involves a range of responsibilities. The successful candidate will be required to clean various machines and areas across the factory. Training will be provided for working at height as well as IPAF (International Powered Access Federation) certification. Safe use of cleaning chemicals is essential, and part of the duties will include removing waste to the appropriate areas and performing one-off cleaning tasks as needed. The role may also involve working overtime to support the team during staff shortages, audits, or VIP visits. The ability to work effectively as part of a team is important, but the candidate must also be capable of working independently without supervision.
