Summary
1. OPERATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES To collect, convey and deliver pharmaceutical and related products to wards and departments, including controlled drugs, following agreed procedures and using necessary equipment. To hold a bleep and be available at short notice to deliver urgent items To ensure relevant paperwork is completed To place orders for IV fluids and medical gases as necessary To pick and deliver IV Fluids, Irrigations and Dietetic products to Wards and Departments using the produced paperwork To communicate relevant information to nurses and other healthcare professionals To attend departmental meetings as appropriate. To participate in Late Night, Saturday and Bank Holiday rotas. To have due regard for your own personal safety and that of other staff, Patients/carers and parents. To have due regard for relevant regulations and procedures, including but not restricted to Health & Safety, Moving & Handling. To maintain concentration in relevant aspects of pharmacy services for prolonged periods To be flexible to the demands of the environment including deadlines.. To work within infection control and health and safety guidelines. To employ appropriate strategies to manage aggressive behaviour within the workplace 2. RESPONSIBILITY FOR POLICY AND SERVICE DEVELOPMENT To plan own workload according to departmental priorities following written procedures. To work independently and as part of a team and refer queries as appropriate. To have a good working knowledge of Pharmacy procedures and comply with them
