Summary
Your Responsibilities What youll do Attend nutrition support ward rounds, reviewing and planning the parenteral nutrition support to inpatients. Support the band 7 intestinal failure dietitians, providing specialist advice to patients in the intestinal failure unit. Review patients in the nutrition support and intestinal failure clinic alongside gastroenterologists, surgeons and specialist nurses The intestinal failure service has strong links with the biomedical research centre for nutrition based at Southampton General Hospital, and you will have the opportunity to participate in service evaluation, audit, and research. What were looking for Someone who has a keen interest in nutrition support, with evidence of relevant, strong clinical skills. Flexibility and the ability to prioritise and manage a busy, complex caseload are essential. You must have excellent communication skills as well as an empathic nature. You must be able to demonstrate the ability to work within an MDT as a specialist dietitian and have the confidence to present and discuss your professional opinion with colleagues. With a varied and interesting caseload, this post requires a dynamic, assertive person with an excellent breadth of knowledge and good rapport-building skills.
