Job title: Personal Assistant (PA)
Reporting to: The Employer
Location: Hollywood near Wythall B47
Job purpose:
To assist with a variety of tasks which will assist the person who needs care and support to live their personal and social life according to their wishes and interests.
This role involves live-in or overnight support.
About the employer:
Our client is a 32-year-old male living in the Hollywood area near Wythall who is looking to recruit a Personal Assistant to join their team to provide support with all aspects of independent daily living.
Our client has Downs Syndrome, Autism, Sensory Processing Disorder.
Main duties:
Social duties:
keep in touch and socialise with family and friends.
attend medical appointments if required.
support to attend community-based activities such as special Olympics, a tricycle group in Southall, trampolining, lunch club and litter picking at Arrow Valley Park.
Personal care: support with all aspects of personal care.
Domestic duties: support with grocery shopping, cooking and serving nutritious meals and snacks, cleaning, changing linen, laundry.
These duties may vary from day-to-day.
Type of person that you/they are looking for:
Values someone that is honest, reliable, punctual, non-judgemental, ability to build good relationships based on trust and respect, flexible, adaptable, easy going, able to work alone, positive, willingness to travel, understands equality & diversity.
Specific requirements: someone with previous care/ support experience preferred but not essential. Must be a driver as pool car available.
Hours of work: 30 hours per week –
Broke down into 2 shifts 08:00am-23:00pm + sleep-in x twice a week.
Rate of pay: £14.00 per hour & £60 per sleep-in.
Skills, qualifications, and experience
Essential:
driving licence
car and appropriate insurance
confidentiality
good at building relationships
Preferred:
previous experience in care and support
good communicator
a good listener
ability to support people with behaviours which challenge.
Successful applicants will require DBS checks & Employment References.
This role is funded by the Local Authority and is paid 4 weekly.
