Summary
The Best Connection are currently recruiting for a Charge Hand Position for our valued client based in WV1 area of Wolverhampton.
Payrate: £14.79 Per Hour
Working Hours:
If workloads require it, expected to work one week of early shifts a month. (start at 5.55am)
6.55am to 3.45pm Monday to Thursday.
6.55am to 2.45pm Friday.
(Occasional Saturdays)
The Ideal candidate will have a H&S background and have experience in ISO9001 and ISO14001 and other external audits. The candidate will have carried out Toolbox talks, Risk assessments, Safe Systems of Works as well as be proactive in their approach to H&S.
As a Charge Hand your duties will include:
· Plan & hold Factory floor Production Meetings, Attend Programming meetings to prioritise daily tasks across management team. Run through any HR matters as necessary.
· Assist management team with day to day planning of rolling mills and hot rolled production.
· Gain an understanding of Framing, Hot Rolled Steel and any other aspects - understand spreadsheets and breakdown of works.
· Gain an understanding of programming needs of the business and attend occasional Monday programme review.
· Monitor internal WIP to ensure product is delivered in line with required due dates.
· Assist with processing queries on internal documentation and drawings for production.
· Liaise with purchasing to ensure material requirements are in line with delivery dates.
· Ensure CE procedures are adhered to at all times.
· Supervising and motivating factory teams when necessary.
· Ensuring full health and safety regulations are adhered to at all times by all staff and all departments. Investigate and write up reports when incidents occur.
· Driving daily production targets to exceed bonus levels.
· Resolving assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications; notifying Senior Management.
· Documenting actions by completing production and quality assurance forms as appropriate.
· To carry out maintenance as per factory production control and maintenance schedules.
· First response for queries from site.
· Responsible for managing internal projects for continuous improvement.
· Assist with ISO & UKCA compliance - Inc carrying out internal audits and external audit preparation and assistance to Managers.
· Assist in Supervision to goods in & out team, planning workloads and ensuring the aim of on time & in full status.
· Daily checks on PPE and housekeeping across every department. Carry out H&S checks /twice a day (more if overtime is on) and send report to teams group.
