Summary

We are looking to recruit a Project and Business Development Officer to join our busy Economy and Regeneration Service.

This is an exciting role within the service, providing an/ opportunity to be part of the team delivering the Ceredigion Economic Strategy 2020 -2035 to enable and provide opportunities for people and enterprises to thrive and grow in Ceredigion.

The main focus of the role is to manage and deliver the Placemaking Transforming Towns Programme in Ceredigion. If you have experience in areas such as regeneration, project management, planning, economic and business development or community work, this could be an opportunity for you.

You will have a central role in motivating Ceredigion’s communities and businesses, to develop and build knowledge and skills, innovate and co-operate to overcome local challenges. The tasks and workload are ever changing, and we are looking for those who can demonstrate innovative thinking and respond positively to challenges with solutions. You now have an opportunity to help shape the future of our county.

You will help shape the future of communities across the county whilst supporting the Council’s ambition to create towns which are thriving, people-centered and resilient places. You will be expected to have a prominent local profile to motivate and foster positive relations with local people and support places that meets the needs and aspirations of the community.

On a day today you will:
• coordinate, facilitate and manage the delivery of the Placemaking Transforming Town Fund to support and regenerate Ceredigion’s town centers
• actively facilitate the engagement, involvement and mentoring of a range of organisations in the community, public and private sectors to assist with the development of their activities
• work with local organisations and businesses to access other funding opportunities appropriate to their needs
• develop and implement monitoring systems to ensure compliance of funding scheme requirements

We are looking to recruit individual with:
• excellent interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to form constructive working relationships with individuals and organisations in the community, public and private sector
• experience of running and managing projects
• ability to think innovatively and strategically
• experience of partnership working and developing collaborative opportunities
• good mentoring and advocacy skills
• communication/presentation skills appropriate to varied audiences
• enthusiasm for community-based activities
• ability to work flexibly, display own initiative and work proactively
