Summary

We require the post holders to have reasonable availability, to be flexible to working different shifts, punctual, versatile to work and enthusiastic.
We require candidates to be 18+ (from February 2026) due to the training courses provided and the governing bodies stipulations for these.
The offer & benefits:
1.) Flexible working - we will discuss with you at the start of the programme what your availability is. If this suits ourselves as well then we will agree your general shift pattern, training plan and work for the upcoming year. (Further shifts could be discussed as options during the year if bookings dictate)
2.) Training - Get paid whilst you train. £12.85 - £13.26 per hour with a great pension scheme.
A training package will be included, depending on your availability throughout the year, some of the training may include:
High ropes instructor, den building, archery, climbing, bikeability, sailing, paddle boarding, kayaking, Powerboat level 2 and much more.
3.) Multiple venues of work - We operate sites in Wigan and in the Lake district and you will have the opportunity to work in numerous venues.

The Recruitment Days
1.) We will meet at Haigh Woodland Park in the Two Left Feet Bar Area at 9AM where there will be a short presentation to show you who we are, what we do and more about the opportunity we are offering.
2.) We will then split into focus groups where you will meet some of the team from Be Well Outdoors and the wider Be Well team to give you an insight into who we are and the services we deliver. There will also be a short individual meeting where you will get to meet one of the management team to ask any questions about the role and they will ask you a couple of questions.
3) We will then move outdoors to do some team building activities for the next hour or so. Please ensure you bring suitable clothing for outdoors and for doing some physical activities.
4) Move to Scotman’s flash for a final team build activity. Please bring clothing you do not mind getting wet, closed toe footwear, that will get wet is required and a change of clothes.
5) We will end with a questions and answer session to end the day
Following the Recruitment Day
You will be informed of the outcome by the 10th September and we will arrange to meet with successful candidates to go through the recruitment paperwork, organise your shift patterns and training programme with you for the following year.
On the day we will ask you to bring with you the following recruitment forms of ID, we will take copies of these on the day as this will make the recruitment process easier in the long run, any unsuccessful candidates copies will be shredded and disposed in confidential waste. So please only attend if you're able to produce the following documents.
These are:
a) 2 of the following passport, driving licence or birth certificate.
b) 2 household bills within 3 months of issue, council tax bill, utility bill or bank statement.
Terms and Conditions
We are providing the opportunity to undertake a lot of training at a considerable expense per person. The number of qualifications you will receive will depending on your commitment and availability and how much work we are able to offer you based in this.
If successful, your training programme and shifts will be discussed at a follow up meeting. At the same time we will inform you of the cost of the training programme and the commitment we require from you (all agreed in the discussions at recruitment day and this day) If you do not honour your contract there will be a repayment amount due for the training provided which will be made obvious at the follow up meeting.
