Location: West Bromwich
Salary: £42,000 - £52,000 per year
Hours: Monday to Friday, 42.5 hours per week
Shifts: Alternating 06:00am to 15:30pm and 08:30am to 18:00pm

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced HGV Mechanic, HGV Technician or HGV Fitter to join a well-established and busy commercial vehicle workshop in West Bromwich. You will be responsible for maintaining HGVs and trailers to MOT standard in a modern, fully equipped environment, working with a supportive team and benefiting from ongoing training and career progression opportunities.
Key Responsibilities of an HGV Mechanic / HGV Technician / HGV Fitter
Service, maintain and repair a variety of HGVs and trailers to VOSA and manufacturer standards
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic faults accurately
Carry out roadside or on-site breakdown repairs when required
Follow all workshop health and safety procedures and company guidelines
Order and manage parts requirements with the parts department
Complete service sheets, job cards and inspection reports accurately and on time
Keep work areas clean, organised and compliant with workshop standards
Undertake ongoing technical and product training to keep skills up to date
Skills and Qualifications for an HGV Mechanic / HGV Technician / HGV Fitter
Essential
Level 3 NVQ, VCQ or City & Guilds in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalent proven experience
Full UK driving licence
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
Good communication skills and a collaborative team approach
Knowledge of health and safety requirements in a workshop environment
Desirable
LGV / HGV Class 1 or Class 2 licence
ADR qualification
Experience working on a wide range of commercial vehicles
