Summary

Job Description

This is an exciting time to join Falkirk’s Social Work Service having recently moved Justice and Children’s Social Work Services into the Health and Social Care Partnership. We intend to take all the opportunities available to us from integration to move forward with our commitment to strengthening practice to improve outcomes for all our service users and communities.

We are seeking to appoint an experienced social work manager to join our team.

You will assist the Head of Children and Justice Services to manage and develop Justice Social Work services. You will consider whole system thinking to be essential to reducing offending and you will value the benefits of partnership working to deliver on the national and local outcomes expected of you.

As an enthusiastic, inspirational leader with extensive management experience within complex organisations, you will provide leadership, vision, and direction in the delivery of functional areas of responsibility

You will provide positive and strong value-based leadership to empower practitioners to create a lasting difference for our children, individuals, families and communities.

You will ensure effective financial controls are in place and the service is providing best value.

You will develop and maintain appropriate systems of communication and consultation that promote meaningful participation and allows the views of service users, staff, partners, and local communities to be heard.

You will work across the Community Justice Partnership with ambition for the area and you will lead and participate in relevant organisational and sector relevant working groups.

Candidates will have a social work qualification recognised by the Scottish Social Services Council, and be registered, or eligible to register, with the SSSC. A management qualification is desirable.

The duties of the post involve Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. A current PVG covering both children and protected adults is essential.
