Senior Carer| Rochdale| Full Time| £13.00 per hour

Our client is a residential care home that prides itself on the warmth and support it provides to its residents and their families. They promote independence, dignity and quality of life at all times in a person-centred caring and supportive environment.

They are seeking a senior career to work as part of a highly committed team at our client’s Care home in Rochdale. The Senior carer and Care Assistant is one of the key and fundamental roles within our client’s care homes. As a Senior Care Assistant, you will put the residents' care and wellbeing at the heart of everything you do.

Are you the right person for the job?

• A caring and compassionate attitude is essential
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Medication administration training and previous experience in giving medications
• Must be able to work flexible hours
• For a senior position, you must have 2 years or more experience in residential care and hold NVQ level 3 or higher in Health and Social Care
• Medication admin trained
• Care Assistant positions are available in a Care Home environment

What will your role look like?

• Build meaningful relationships with a set number of residents and their families
• Assist residents with activities of daily living, based on their individual care needs
• Understand and respect each resident’s unique preferences and personalities
• Provide both physical and emotional support, including personal care where needed
• Administer medications to residents in line with care plans
• Help lead the care team to ensure all residents receive the necessary care
• Serve food in the dining room and assist with mealtime support
• Complete dining room clean-up after meals
• Tidy and maintain residents’ rooms to a high standard
• For the Care Assistant role: apply Dementia Techniques to validate and recognise each resident as an individual
