We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Community Safety Officer to join our Homes Plus Neighbourhoods Team on a full-time, temporary basis. This position will be considered as a secondment opportunity for internal applicants.
The role
As a Community Safety Officer, you will be an integral part of our Neighbourhoods team and actively support the team in delivering efficient, customer-focused housing management services in line with the organisation’s and regulatory requirements and procedures. You will be responsible for compliance and tenancy management cases, enforcement action up to an including court attendance and evictions, and working with agencies as necessary. You will also take appropriate action to resolve breach of tenancy conditions including anti-social behaviour, investigate serious or complex disputes, assisting tenants and other customers by providing advice on all aspects of tenancy procedures.
What skills and experience we are looking for
Relevant professional qualification e.g. CIH Level 3 Certificate or a relevant qualification in ASB, or a willingness to work towards.
Experience and knowledge of housing legislation and best practice regarding ASB, Compliance and Safeguarding.
Experience of providing accurate and detailed file notes in preparation for court, including the ability to write own witness statements.
Experience of working with vulnerable customers, victims of crime and anti-social behaviour.
Ability to be pro-active, use own initiative and be self-driven to achieve agreed targets.
Ability to think ahead and be pro-active on behalf of customers and the organisation
Ability to tackle difficult situations with confidence and negotiate to reach a good solution,
Ability to build strong relationships through excellent communication skills with external agencies and working closely with the police.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
Experience of tackling and dealing with Tenancy Management issues.
Knowledge of relevant regulations and best practices.
Full UK Driving Licence.
