Import Customs Manager – £47,000 DOE – Near Slough
A well-established small company near Slough is looking for an experienced Import Customs Manager to oversee all aspects of our import operations. This is a permanent role, Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm (37.5 hours per week).
The Import Customs Manager will ensure accurate and timely processing of customs entries, full compliance with HMRC procedures, and effective management of a small import team. The ideal Import Customs Manager will have proven courier import experience, strong leadership skills, and in-depth knowledge of customs systems.
Essential Requirements:
Proven management and leadership experience in imports/customs.
Strong knowledge of HMRC compliance, CDS, CNS, ETSF, and BIRDS.
Proficient in Descartes (e-customs), ASM (Sequoia), and Boxtop.
Previous courier import experience, including low-value bulk clearance.
Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, develop, and motivate the import & customs team to achieve service and quality goals.
Process and oversee customs clearance entries (CDS) for courier and cargo imports.
Ensure full compliance with HMRC regulations and customs procedures.
Manage and reconcile Deferment and FAS accounts.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of customs legislation, tariffs, and procedures.
