Summary
Murray Recruitment are recruiting an Accounts Assistant for our client based in South Lanarkshire.
Role Overview
This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and detail-focused Accounts Assistant to join a busy finance team. The role involves providing day-to-day support in payroll and accounting processes, ensuring accurate financial records, and delivering exceptional service across internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will work closely with the Payroll Co-ordinator and other team members to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and on time.
Key Responsibilities
Collating, checking, and amending timesheets from the labour recording system for upload to the accounting system.
Chasing missing timesheets with employees or approvers for month-end closing.
Liaising with the Payroll Co-ordinator to resolve any queries or amendments.
Running pivot tables for reconciliations during month-end checks.
Providing payroll cover, including recording of timesheets, PAYE/NI, statutory payments, benefits in kind, allowances, and expenses.
Processing purchase invoices and raising sales invoices for internal and external clients.
Answering incoming telephone queries.
Carrying out any other associated duties as required by the business.
Skills & Experience
Experience in an administrative or finance-related role with payroll duties.
Strong IT skills, including Excel (pivot tables and lookups).
Excellent communication skills at all levels.
Strong organisational and time management abilities.
Ability to work on own initiative while following instructions.
Proactive approach to work.
Offering
Salary up to £28,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
Full-time position based in Coatbridge.
Working hours are 8:30am – 5:00pm Monday to Thursday, and 8:30am – 4:00pm on Friday.
Holidays: 25 days annual leave plus 8 statutory holidays (1 Jan – 31 Dec).
Pension: Employer contribution 5%, Employee contribution 5%.
