Forest and Acorn are 17 bedded male Acute Wards while River Ward is a 10 bedded male PICU located within the newly established, purpose-built mental health unit at North View, North Manchester General Hospital. This facility represents a significant advancement in mental health care, offering a state-of-the-art inpatient environment designed to foster recovery and well-being. As a staff nurse on all 3 Wards, you will have the unique opportunity to work within a dynamic multi-disciplinary team. This role not only allows you to contribute to the care and support of patients but also to engage in collaborative practices that enhance the overall treatment experience. The innovative design of the ward promotes a therapeutic atmosphere, ensuring that both staff and patients benefit from a supportive and healing environment. In alignment with the core philosophy of the ward/unit, the post holder assumes a pivotal role in the comprehensive assessment, meticulous planning, diligent implementation, and thorough evaluation of care for identified clients. Acting as the Primary Nurse, they are entrusted with the responsibility of catering to service users who present with complex and challenging needs within the service framework. The post holder is committed to delivering tailored interventions on an individual basis, ensuring that the care provided is grounded in effective, evidence-based practices. To facilitate the successful delivery of a holistic care package that addresses the diverse needs of service users, robust communication and collaboration with various disciplines are essential. Moreover, the post holder will extend their expertise by offering support and guidance to junior team members, fostering an environment of learning and professional development. Their leadership will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth coordination and efficient operation of the ward, ultimately enhancing the quality of care provided to all service users.
