Summary
Service Engineer
Weldsafe, based in Scotstoun, Glasgow, is looking for a Service Engineer, covering ARC welding equipment, hydraulic jacking and bolting equipment, pneumatic systems and small tooling systems.

Our customers are across a broad range of industries, including fabrication, engineering, energy, shipbuilding, manufacturing, construction, agriculture and motor vehicle repair.
Role overview
• Repair, test and calibration of ARC welding equipment, hydraulic jacking equipment, hydraulic bolting systems, pneumatic systems and general small tooling systems.
• Work closely with the supervising Engineers to ensure all tasks are prioritised effectively and completed to company standards.
• Occasional travel to clients across Central Scotland (access to company van provided for site visits).
• Complete engineer’s paperwork accurately and promptly.
• Consistently operate in a positive and professional manner, providing reliable and quality service to customers and maintaining good communication with colleagues.
• Carry out reasonable requests from management.
• Keep the busy workshop environment organised, clean and tidy.
• Work in line with the Company’s quality management system, industry standards and regulations and Health & Safety policy.
• It is important to note that this post is a manual job and can be physically demanding. It will involve repetitive light, medium and occasionally heavy lifting, including regular bending and some kneeling.
Ideal candidate:
• A basic understanding in electrics and electronics (ideally, an understanding of three phase systems, inverter-based power supplies and microprocessor appreciation coupled with some mechanical aptitude) preferred
• A basic understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic systems preferred but training will be provided
• Knowledge of the welding/engineering industry preferred
• Basic numeracy
• Basic computer skills
• Good communication skills
• Good time keeping
• Comfortable working under pressure in a busy environment
• Have a desire to work hard, learn and become a valued member of the Weldsafe Team.

Working pattern: 0830-1700 Monday – Thursday, 0830-1600 Friday.
