Summary

We're looking for a Senior Buyer to join our joint venture with BAM Nuttall based at Hinkley Point C.



Location: Hinkley Point C, Bridgwater, Somerset - remote working available, with occasional travel to the office required

Hours: 45 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us



Responsibilities of a Senior Buyer

As a Senior Buyer you'll be working within the commercial team at Hinkley team, to support site in all procurement activities including equipment, plant and materials which builds on our existing supply chain and maximises sustainability and best value for a number of work packages on a nuclear licensed site.

Your day to day will include:

-Ensure the procurement function complies with the projects prescribed detailed technical and Contract requirements.

-Pre-construction involvement in design meetings, product selection, obtaining quotations and tender analysis.

-Engaging and developing relationships with the supply chain including negotiating terms and conditions for placement of orders and assisting the accounts function for timely payment of invoices.

-Post contract duties include timely and effective processing of requisitions, regular updates to project trackers, maintenance of purchasing database and continuous assessment of suppliers to pre-agreed KPIs ensuring Health & Safety, Sustainability and Carbon reduction policies are adhered to.

-Contribute to managing budget costs and regular market testing of the Supply chain to ensure value for money.

-Support the implementation and monitoring of Performance Excellence and Social Value metrics.

What are we looking for in the role of Senior Buyer?

This role of Senior Buyer is great for you if:

-Evidential experience and positive track record of ‘best in class' supply chain procurement in a similar role within a complex project and able to demonstrate experience of significant cost and time savings

-You have a strong understanding of the NEC suite of contracts including Target Costs and Supply Orders.

-Demonstrable excellence in supporting the delivery of design, construction & commissioning of nuclear or defence projects will be a bonus

-HNC / HND Level in a construction discipline

-Experience using ERP systems including COINS and Microsoft applications
