Summary

In addition to providing professional leadership for safeguarding adults, the post holder will facilitate improvements in the quality and provision of health services through collaboration of the Integrated Care System; with the local authorities and health partners to ensure that safeguarding and clinical governance practice, policies and procedures are understood and adhered to. The postholder will also lead with the Head of Safeguarding in seeking quality assurance of safeguarding practice across the health economy in BNSSG, and evidence of learning from statutory safeguarding reviews. The Designated Professional for Safeguarding Adults will provide expert advice and clinical/professional leadership to the local health providers and partner agencies in relation to health services to safeguard adults at risk. The postholder will work closely with the Head of Safeguarding (All age) to lead and manage the ICB Safeguarding team, including the Deputy Designated Nurses/Professionals (8a), Named GPs, and business support roles. The Designated Professional for Safeguarding Adults will support the effective delivery of the ICB statutory safeguarding duties, in collaboration with the ICB Safeguarding Team.
