Hays are working in partnership with a global leader in aerospace technology to recruit for a Category Manager - Composites Category. This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking organisation at the forefront of innovation and transformation within the industry.
Your new role
You will take ownership of the global outsourced spend for the Composites category, providing strategic leadership and direction. Your responsibilities will include developing robust commodity strategies, managing critical supplier relationships, and delivering significant cost savings. You'll play a key role in shaping Make vs Buy decisions, leading complex outsourcing projects, and driving ethical and sustainable sourcing practices. You'll also oversee supplier evaluations, tender processes, and long-term agreements, while continuously improving category performance.
What you'll need to succeed
- Minimum 5 years' experience in strategic procurement or supply chain, ideally within aerospace or technology sectors
- At least 3 years' experience specifically in composites sourcing
- Strong knowledge of category supply markets
- Proven ability to manage strategic sourcing and supplier relationships
- Experience influencing senior stakeholders and leading transformation projects
- Degree in Engineering, Business, Operations, Strategy or a related field
- CIPS Advanced Practitioner or equivalent (preferred)
- Skilled negotiator with strong decision-making and problem-solving capabilities
- Project and change management experience
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
- Willingness to travel internationally as required
