Summary

This position forms part of the Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) programme which is part funded by Innovate UK. It’s essential you understand how KTP works with Business and University partners, and the vital role you will play if you successfully secure a KTP Associate position.

This position is initially for a 36 month fixed term contract. You will be employed by Teesside University but will be working at the business partner premises day to day.

You will have access to a dedicated training budget tailored towards your personal development, access to industry leading technology and supervision from a leading academic research team from Teesside University. The business partner, A.V.Dawson Limited (T/A Port of Middlesbrough) is a multimodal freight logistics and port operator based on the River Tees, North East England.

This KTP aims to develop an AI powered, self-reflective digital twin of holistic port operations to enhance logistics efficiency and support sustainable growth, positioning the AV Dawson Group and the Port of Middlesbrough as a leader in smart port technology within the rapidly evolving Teesside Freeport ecosystem.

Please note: This is a two-stage interview position. First stage interview will take place via Microsoft Teams. Second stage interview will take place in person where you will present to a panel.

First Stage Interviews will take place on 18 September 2025.

Second Stage Interviews will take place on 29 September 2025.
