We are looking for a Refuse Loader to join our depot in Northallerton.



You will be covering a significant rural area with picturesque towns and villages.

No previous experience is required, and full training will be given.

The Role

Working in small crews you will be collecting residual, garden and food waste, as well as recyclable materials from domestic and commercial properties across the dedicated area of the county.

You will move bags, wheeled bins and boxes, using a lifting mechanism to tip the waste into the lorry. Health and safety are also critical to ensure your team and residents are safe, including supporting your driver to help navigate the streets of North Yorkshire safely.

This role has huge importance, as you will be on the front line of a key service in the Northallerton locality.

As required, you may be asked to start early, and weekend working may also be required.

Roles and Responsibilities:

· Collection and emptying of receptacles.

· Removing spillages

· Checking of service lists and reporting instances outside of acceptable presentation.

· To support the driver in undertaking risk assessments.

· Assisting the driver, ensuring manoeuvres are completed safely and mitigate the risk to pedestrians and other road users.

· Responsible for the health and safety of self and colleagues, ensuring that all safe working practices are followed.

· You will also be trained in cleansing duties to meet operational needs.

Shifts are 4 days per week which may include 1 weekend day to be worked between 06:00 and 6pm.

You may be required to cover Richmond occasionally.
