Summary

Qualified Teacher required for a tutoring role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Part-time SEN Outreach Tutor to provide exceptional support for Key Stage 1 and 2 pupils in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire. The successful candidate will work closely with local councils and SEND teams to deliver tailored, high-quality educational support to young learners outside of mainstream education.

As an SEN Outreach Tutor, you will be responsible for assessing individual learners' needs, developing personalised learning plans, and delivering engaging lessons that cater to their specific requirements. You will collaborate with parents, carers, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to each child's education and well-being.

The ideal candidate will possess a genuine passion for working with children with special educational needs and a strong understanding of the challenges they face. You should have a relevant teaching qualification, such as a PGCE or QTS, and experience working with pupils in Key Stage 1 and 2. Knowledge of the National Curriculum and experience in adapting teaching methods to suit individual learning styles is essential.

In this role, you will demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as you will be working closely with children, families, and professionals from various backgrounds. The ability to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment is crucial, as is the capacity to manage challenging behaviours with patience and understanding.

Our client offers a competitive salary of £25 - £30 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. This is a part-time position, providing you with the flexibility to balance your professional and personal commitments.

Key responsibilities:
- Assess individual learners' needs and develop personalised learning plans
- Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to each child's specific requirements
- Monitor and report on pupils' progress, adapting teaching strategies as necessary
- Collaborate with parents, carers, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to each child's education and well-being
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with organisational policies and procedures

Essential qualifications and experience:
- Relevant teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS)
- Experience working with pupils in Key Stage 1 and 2
- Knowledge of the National Curriculum and experience in adapting teaching methods to suit individual learning styles
- Understanding of special educational needs and the challenges faced by learners outside of mainstream education
- Enhanced DBS check and commitment to safeguarding children
