Our client is a reputable educational institution in Ipswich, Suffolk, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Full-time Learning Support Assistant (1:1) to join their team. The successful candidate will work closely with a designated student, providing individualised support to ensure their academic, social, and emotional development. The role offers a competitive salary range of £90 to £105 per day, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in education, with a passion for supporting students with diverse learning needs. They will demonstrate excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills, as well as the ability to adapt to various teaching styles and strategies. The Learning Support Assistant will collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment for the student.
To be considered for this position, applicants must have the right to work in the UK and hold or be willing to obtain an enhanced child DBS certificate registered with the Update Service. Additionally, candidates must be able to provide two professional child-related references.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing one-to-one support to the assigned student, adapting learning materials and activities to meet their specific needs
- Encouraging the student's independence, self-esteem, and social interaction skills
- Monitoring and recording the student's progress, and communicating regularly with teachers and parents
- Assisting with the preparation of learning resources and maintaining a safe and stimulating learning environment
