Construction Teacher - Alternative Provision - Nottingham (NG5)

This school supports KS3 and KS4 students aged 13-16 who are disengaged from mainstream education due to behavioural, emotional, or social challenges.

This is a full-time role, term time only, starting in September 2025, with interviews and trial days taking place as soon as possible. It's an ideal opportunity for a practical, hands-on educator who wants to make a real difference in young people's lives by equipping them with valuable skills for the future.

Salary: £31,000 pro rata, term time only
Contract: Full-Time | Term Time Only | Long Term to Permanent

About the Role
As a Construction Teacher in this Alternative Provision, you will deliver practical and engaging construction lessons in small groups, ensuring activities are tailored to meet the needs of learners with SEMH and behavioural needs. You will help students develop real-world, industry-relevant skills while building their confidence, resilience, and employability prospects.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver high-quality construction lessons to KS3 and KS4 students.

Adapt teaching methods to suit the needs of learners with SEMH and behavioural challenges.

Requirements:

Practical experience in the construction industry.

Previous teaching or instructing experience in construction or related vocational skills (desirable).

Understanding of the barriers faced by young people with SEMH and behavioural difficulties.
