Summary
Key Responsibilities:
Lesson Delivery
Prepare lesson-plans and deliver engaging lessons tailored to the needs of students preparing for ESOL International qualifications.
Teach English language skills, including reading, writing, speaking and listening with a focus on fluency, accuracy and confidence.
Student Support
Work with a diverse group of learners, ranging from beginners to advanced levels and adapt teaching methods to accommodate varying learning styles.
Provide additional support to students who need extra help, including one-on-one sessions or group activities.
Assessments, Reports, Result Submissions to the Awarding bodies and Feedback for learners.
Foster an inclusive, engaging and supportive classroom environment where students feel encouraged to participate and succeed.
Promote cultural awareness and sensitivity in a multilingual and multicultural classroom setting.
Arrange guided trips to the places of cultural and historical significance in London
Attend staff meetings, once a month
The ideal candidate will have:
• A recognised teaching qualification such as Trinity Cert TESOL or Cambridge CELTA (essential).
• A few good years’ experience of teaching ESOL or English as a Second Language.
• Proficiency in lesson planning and classroom management.
• A clear understanding of ESOL International qualification requirements.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, adaptability, and a passion for helping students achieve their goals.
Desirable Skills
• Experience with international examinations (e.g., IELTS, Cambridge English).
• Familiarity with e-learning platforms and digital teaching tools.
• Additional certifications in English teaching (e.g., DELTA, PGCE in English).
