Summary
Job Title: Precast Concrete Production Operative
Location: Shrewsbury (own transport required due to location)
Pay Rate: £12.21 per hour
Hours:
- Monday to Thursday: 7:30am - 5:00pm
- Friday: 7:30am - 3:00pm
Contract Type: Temporary ongoing, with potential for a permanent contract for the right candidate
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and assemble moulds according to specifications
- Mix, pour, and compact concrete into moulds, ensuring correct consistency and quality
- Install reinforcement (steel bars, mesh, etc.) as required
- Carry out surface finishing, curing, and moulding of products
- Perform quality checks to ensure products meet standards and tolerances
- Operate and maintain tools, machinery, and lifting equipment safely
- Follow health and safety procedures, including wearing PPE at all times
- Keep the work area clean and organised
- Assist with loading, unloading, and moving products as required
- Previous experience in labouring, manufacturing, or precast concrete (preferred)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and measurements
- Good practical skills and attention to detail
- Physically fit and able to lift heavy objects
- Knowledge of health and safety in an industrial environment
- Team player with good communication skills
- Must be able to commute to Shrewsbury
- Manual handling and operation of machinery
- Working indoors in a production facility and occasionally outdoors
- Use of PPE, including gloves, safety boots, and hard hat
- Possible overtime depending on production demands
